I'm so glad to hear you have an attorney helping you out there. I'm guessing that in absence of a specific ordinance, they are going under some generalized nuisance ordinance, which is good news. Those cases are usually much easier to win.

Any idea of your township court is a court of record? Transcripts could be very useful to you in pressing a complaint.

Holly, finally they have cited you!!!! It looks as vague as everything you have been dealing with up to this point. Maybe at the end of all this you will have forced these folks to at least act like they are in charge of making rules and keeping the peace, 'cause seems to me like they have just been hangin' out at the "good ole boys club" up til now. Collecting a check and slappin' backs instead of actually doing the job they were elected and hired to do.

It never ceases to amaze me when these small town officials get called on the carpet. They walk around town like the big "I Am" until someone - like you - questions their legitimacy. How can anyone seriously expect to run a town with ordinances that are so unspecific? I guess they just figure folks will roll over and play dead when the guy with the gun shows up.

Good for you for standing your ground and expecting more of the people who are paid(with your tax money) to be in charge!!

I think I might have found out where you can get a full copy of the SALDO-subdivision and land development ordinance. Contact the County of Schuylkill zoning dept.

As you will see on page 1, Blythe township HAS submitted their own SALDO. The county office should have it on file.

Also, on page 1 (PDF page 8) it states:
In addition, if any provisions of this Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance is inconsistent with any laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or of the United States, then such state and/or federal law shall control.
Maybe you can find a loophole here.

I cannot find a SALDO for Blythe on the internet anywhere. When you get the full SALDO read it carefully, especially all the definitions. If the only ordinance against you is that you are zone residental but it doesn't define what constitutes pets and such you might be okay.

I know that you will post the SALDO on here so we can all help you. If you start a new thread, PM me a link so I can read it too. The funeral is Thur so I haven't had much time to read all recent posts but I will take the time to read yours and try to help.

this sounds like a made for TV movie not something that happens in real life.


I have a feeling this peeping lady is probably behind a lot of it , she probably calls and complains every minute of every day on you. And she probably rallysd her troops against you to call against you too... Id be willing to bet she is behind the scenes working against you.

For heavans sake people keep chickens in philidelphia and NYC. the eggs feed the projects and compost used in lot gardens springing up , there was a short story in national geographic I think I still have it, it was called urban chickens, you might be able to look it up online. they have rules such as you cant have ten thousand roosters running aroiund keeping everyone awake, but reasonable husbandry.
