The photo was taken with my Android tablet and has been cropped....

She is a Speckled Sussex and should look like this....

Usually the girls have an easy molt, but this year one of them got a little carried away. I noticed she tries to stay in the sun and out of the wind. When she's in the coop she doesn't like anyone cuddled up next to her. I think the new pin feathers are hurting her. Every time she shakes herself there is a "snow storm" of feathers floating in the air...

Since all my girls, 28 hens and 16 pullets, are Speckled Sussex I do not name them. They all have the same name, "Feather Heads"....

She is the same hen I entered on Wednesday, it's a better photo. I was worried about her last night because it was forcasted to be 34°F and she doesn't have feathers to keep her warm. I was happy to see her this morning sit

Holy cow! She's a walking pin cushion! I can imagine why she doesn't want anyone near her! Poor girl.

I was happy to see her this morning sitting in the sun. She sits on her lower part of her legs to keep her pin feathers from touching the ground. She just looks so miserable!
She definitely does! She's a smart girl though. I'm happy to see she's doing well despite the cold!
