Open Contest Official BYC Contest—Post Your Best (Worst) Chicken Molt Pictures - 2025

I think it's correct from looking at previous years. Haven't entered myself in a few and when I did it said unlimited.
Idk just seems a bit crazy to me and ya I think 4 or 5 would be better. I know when I had poorer internet connection any posts with a ton of pics pretty much made it impossible for me to get through that thread.
I just looked back now too, so whoa, 50 was there last year too. I'm not sure why anyone would need to post 50 pictures of the same bird though. For fun, I posted mine, and three was plenty to show how pretty and how ugly lol.
Maybe this should be a consideration for next year? I've seen people post a lot of pictures of their chicken, and sometimes their pictures are scattered throughout the thread as they update as their chicken molts. Come judging time I've seen those scattered all merged into one post by the moderation team to make it easier for the judges.
Personally, from what I've seen in previous contests, particularly when I've seen what I just mentioned here happening, I think 4-5 images is too low of a limit. If I was to suggest a lower limit, I'd think at least 10-20 images. That way people can get pictures all around their chicken, plus have a few process pictures (which I love seeing).

But isn't there a difference between "entry" and "update"? I take the rule of limit 50 as if that's for the entry.

If I went behind weeks later and said, "Look how good she does now," and posted a couple of beautiful pictures, I wouldn't consider that part of my entry. Would it be?
I may not understand this contest. :gig

I took it as going the other direction. Like they entered a bird and then a week or two later it melted more and looked more pitiful. Then again later and later. Maybe updating as it got worse.
Idk maybe just me but I'm not a fan of continously reentering the same bird for a couple months.
Maybe add to original post and limit to 10. 10 seems plenty for any situation.

In the rules, it doesn't specify if the entry should be done in one post, or several. It only asks that different chickens are done in separate posts. That being said, if there's updates throughout the contest of the same chicken, it's still classified of that entry of that chicken and not a new one everytime the poster posts an update.
