At first glance this looks very ordinary but the breeds involved are a Barred Holland and Pita Pinta. This was earlier this spring. She hatched this one and we added some feed store Delawares. (second Pic)

She was a great little mama the chicks have grown up and are on their own now.

Someone forgot to tell my grey andulision shes not supposed to go broody! I bought a dozen eggs off cragslist of backyard mixes. She hatched 9 memorial day weekend. The other 4 eggs i checked 3 days later. 3 duds and the 4th was a perfectly formed black chick but it wasnt alive. The yellow chick was the first i saw on may 30th. Then i introduced 3 brabanter chicks (i was told by a breeder just slip them under she wont know the diffrence) i learned my lesson. 16 hours after sucessful introducion.. Momma Blue distroyed the 3 brabanters. So i took all babies away and got new brabanters and this weekend... Momma blue is broody AGAIN.

And my mama bourbon red turkey, who's eggs all went bad. She ended up adopting a 4 week old Orpington chick as her own baby. They still sleep snuggled up together.
