Ended Official BYC Contest - Post your best broody and babies pic and win!

My broodies for this year are a pair of turkey hens, Annabelle ( burbon red) and Rosabelle ( Royal Palm). They hatched a total of 15 poults together. The Tom is a Burbon red. They let me and the kids handle the poults, but woe to anyone else! The poor dog has a hard time being anywhere nearby. The chickens and other turkeys are charged like an overdrawn credit card!

My favorite BYC contest by far. Too bad I'm raising hens for eggs, not chicks.

My two guinea hens hatched 18 keets in a community nest/hatch and now parent them together.

Here is another picture of the keets, now 2 weeks old. The pearl gray and white guineas are the hens. The lavender male is the dad and is helping to raise them too!

My Sebright hatched some Orpington eggs. The chicks grew larger than mama before 4 wks old, but that never stopped her from caring for them. I laughed nightly as I saw her trying to cover her giant babies. She cared for them for 7 wks until she started laying again.

I love the expression on the hen & as well as the chicks pancaked beneath her.
