If she will let you, you can rub the feather capsules and get them top pop open a bit. Many molting hens like that!

My girls have lost feathers a lot but the are all missing. I think they are eating them. What do I do now ?

I would so love to enter this contest but only one of my hens has started and she has only lost a few feathers. Oh well, maybe next time

Here is my (once and future) beautiful Bielfelder Chocolate. She also is my miracle chicken! I interrupted a weasel attack on her sister lutside their coop the other night - thankfully her sister only lost a few feathers. Chocolate was MIA for over 24 hours even though we searched all over for 2 hours. We were sure she was a goner No one saw her the next day either. When I got home from work I sat outside and called to them and BAM! She appeared!! She must have found a good hiding spot and hunkered down!
