This is the first year for chickens, so I won’t experience any molting (other than when they grew from babies to adults and lost their down). So I am eager to see how they will transition next year into molting. These pictures posted kind of makes me sad. I don’t want to see my girls naked and bald. . I love their beautiful feathers.

Don't worry. Molting this bad doesn't happen too often. Most of the time, chickens just get kind rough looking, with maybe a few bald patches here and there.
