Yep... and yep. Seriously, there's been a chain of events happening around the house lately that have been keeping me extremely busy. Can't wait for Fall to get here!!!

WE MADE OUR FEEDER THE HEIGHT OF THE RUN, ABOUT 5 FT. AND IT HAS DONE WELL SINCE AUG, 2015. There is a reducer neck of 2,5 inches inside the 4 inch 'Y' pipe and a stop just below the 'y' to keep feed from being wasted in the last section.
A person could run it to a large tub that could feed longer between refills but our 9 hens eat steady and I need to refill the pipe every 5 days.
For water we have a 3 gal Igloo round style cooler hung for easy access in the outside dry storage area and in the plug we substituted pvc with horizontal freeze resistant nipples.
I fill the cooler about every 3 days. I use warm water in winter, iced in summer. A space heater keeps the pvc warm in freezing cold.
