We would like to show us your best homemade invention and how you did it and if we really like it, you could be a winner!

    Contest Details:

This is a contest to see who can create the "best" waterer / feeder / incubator / brooder for BYC. Put together a page with step by step instructions explaining how you put together your invention. Include as many pics as possible. Remember a pic is worth a 1,000 words! (And you'll get bonus points for extra pics! [IMG])

    Prizes:

The 2nd place winner will receive a $20 Gift certificate for the BYC Store!

If you want your page to win, make sure it has as many of the elements above in as much detail as possible! Here are some additional hints to help you win the contest:

    1. Follow the format of some of the existing waterer/feeder/incubator/brooder pages.
    2. The more details and pictures the better!
    3. Pictures - We all love lots of pictures!
**ALL pictures MUST be uploaded to BYC**

If you have questions about the contest reply to this thread.

We expect to add all of the pages submitted to the new homemade chicken waterer / feeder / brooder / incubator section but the best will win the contest.

    TO ENTER THE CONTEST:

    1) Create a cool page
    2) Reply to this thread with a link to your waterer / feeder page on BYC!
    3) Have Fun!

    NOTES:

If you're one of those modest types and want to add your waterer / feeder / brooder / incubator to the site but don't want to enter the contest, that is fine. Please still add a link to your page in this thread... the more designs the better the community will be!

We want all types of waterers / feeders / brooders / incubators. Small, big, simple, complex, wood, plastic, glass etc. Everyone has different budgets, time, and use cases, so we want to capture them all!

If you can't / aren't inclined to create a page but have lots of good pictures and a write up of your design, please email them to [email protected] and we can build a page for you.

If you are unsure how to go about creating a page, see our tutorial here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/953810/coop-pages-and-member-pages-tutorial-and-feedback/0_30

Another successfully project. I've had this automated watering thingy running for a few months now with great results. The only problem I had was the hosepipe bursting because of the high water pressure. I solved this problem by replacing the hosepipe with a piece of high pressure pipe.

@sumi Hello my friend, hey, if I enter the upright cabinet coolerbator do I have to take everything from the first page of the thread to a "PAGE" first? Not sure if its possible to copy paste like that or do I need to download and re-upload all the images and info again? that could be trouble. Thanks

A Twist on a 5 Gallon Spring Water Jug Gravity Fed Poultry Waterer

I needed a big waterer for our 26 meat birds desperately, then I saw the idea of this system on a google image search but after some thought, I realized that I needed to make a few changes, because when your a woman carrying a 5 gallon jug of water and flip it over you don't want to mess around trying to align anything, and I didn't want to mess up my water jugs either by drilling holes and adding any bolts, etc. The coffee container can move wherever it wants in that bucket and you can just flip the 5 gal jug into the bucket quick without having to fuss with all that weight in one hand! And its gravity fed of course. We have two water jugs, so I can carry one along to the meat birds to replace the other, then rinse and sun dry until the next day, repeat. Here is a link to a water jug if you dont use them from walmart or someplace already. I had asked for mine on CL in a general sales post, got three replies and ended up with freebies! Thats always a plus!
The site has several sizes and buy two get a discount, but again local CL works best, just type and ask!

    5 gallon water jug
Coffee Containter (I used Maxwell house, Foldgers is red and that IS the going Color for Poultry waters)
You betcha that's all folks! [IMG]

@Sally Sunshine You can copy and paste chunks including links, text and images. What I do is highlight the piece I want to copy, then right click somewhere NOT over a link or image, copy, paste. Let me know if you'd like me to help you?
