After a long day of play, Autumn and Opal come in for a snack and a rest. Her and that silly chicken are inseparable.
 

An old candid shot of my dad with my first flock. He hadn't had chickens since he was 16 and he would always share snacks (like twinkies and cupcakes) with the birds (whom then learnt to perch on his shoulder and eventually stopped trying to eat his hearing aids

Very nice picture of your Dad sharing with your chickens...it's great to have those memories.

My daughter Makenzie with a baby chick at rural king, she loves chickens almost as much as i do and begged to bring it home, thats her pretty please face lol Needless to say we have 6 more babies now! And i thought it was safe to go to rural king in November...

I think it's wonderful when kids are crazy about animals, any kind of animal. They can learn so much from being around and caring for chickens, dogs, cats, etc.

And it's much more fun to see them bonding with a pet than it is to see them bonded to their phones
