Ended Official BYC Mini-Contest Series—What's Your Hobby?

I also love reading as you can see from the bookshelf. One of my dreams is to have a whole room designated to be a library. I read whenever I have time to spare, such as on the car or waiting for an appointment. I like historical fiction, biographies, and fantasy the best, but I'm willing to read anything (except horror novels lol) from commentaries to murder mysteries.
(I also like buying books 😉)

Have you read any David Grann books? I heard an interview with him several weeks ago and I think I might like to check a couple out:

I have more hobbies than time. :D
My first hobby is knitting. My Grandma taught me when I was about 5. I'm a lefty, so she taught me to mirror her- so I knit backwards. lol I have since learned to knit "righty". I love to make fingerless gloves, sweaters, socks, hats.

The short sleeve sweater is made from my handspun yarn, and the mitt was spun, designed and knit by me.

My 2nd hobby is spinning yarn. I have spun from store bought roving, locks, in the grease right off a fleece, and any other way you can think. I have 3 manual wheels and an electric. It is so soothing to sit and just get a rhythm going while listening to music or podcasts.

Hobby number 3 is sewing/quilting. Don't have the time to do this as often as I'd like, but I'm always thinking about projects. :drool I learned to sew in home ec in 7th grade.

I enjoy working with wood. Here are two examples - I carve and paint wooden decoys, shore birds and song birds as well as make twig furniture. This decoy is a Wood Duck Drake in sleeping position. the table is made with sycamore legs and the trim around the top is made of split twig sections of tulip poplar.
