The calendar is available to winners who reside in the United States. Winners outside the United States will be awarded a 1-month PFM.

Rules:

1. Four entries per member. One hobby per post, please.
2. An entry is one or more pictures of your hobby and a blurb about the hobby (see rule #3).
3. Please add a short description of your hobby. Examples:
   • What is it that you love about this hobby?
   • When do you do the Hobby?
   • What sacrifices do you make to be able to practice your hobby?
   • Are you an amateur? An adept? An expert?
   • Are you lucky enough that this hobby is part of your job/income?
   • The above are just examples of how to create your post, you don´t have to talk about all of them, and you can add other things if you want, those are just a few guidelines in case you don’t know how to make your post!
4. The picture needs to have been taken by you, a friend, or someone in your immediate family.
5. You cannot use a photo that won an award in another BYC-sponsored contest.
6. ALL photos MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
7. Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.

One of my hobbies is songwriting. I usually do pop, or country style. And it’s usually very dark, or sad. Here’s one of my typical kind of songs, that I wrote after a coyote attack on my sweet Silkie pullet Midnight.

I like to build stuff. Been fortunate enough to have many years in the building trades and be able to aquire a lot of tools that help. I don't make any money of anything. There all just gifts to family and I get to tinker with wood in my spare time.

This is a gaming cabinet I made for my Autistic step-son for Christmas. The decals are his favorite super-hero Moon knight. And he has every gaming console so it needed to fit all them plus his sound bar.
His favorite color is red so I did the top Shou Sugi Ban (charred wood) then dyed it red.

A make up mirror I made for one of my daughters. Her color is yellow.

This is a noodle board I made for DW for Christmas last year.

And a few candle holders for her also.

I remodeled my oldest daughters kitchen a last year.

We made this custom counter top together. I made the top and she custom stained each board to match the kitchen decor.

And then I surprised her with a spice cabinet for Christmas that year for her new kitchen.

My hobby is baking. I bake mostly sourdough loaves right now, although I also bake cookies and scones (not pictured). Here's some of my bread. I have recently gained two customers, who will be buying my bread weekly. I used to bake yeast bread, years ago, and sold it to neighbors. I love the smell, taste and texture of good home-baked bread, there is nothing like it. And I love the way my house smells when I've baked. There's something viscerally satisfying about the smell of fresh bread. It smells like home, love, security, comfort and safety.

When the dough is right, it cleans the side of the bowl.

Golden and crispy. . .

. . . and mouth-wateringly tempting!
