Most of our members here have had a hen go broody in the strangest place(s) and we would love to see yours! If you have a pic of your sneaky broody hen (any fowl species accepted) sitting in a strange place (not the nest box!), please show us!

Rules and how to enter:

* All entries must be submitted as a reply to this thread
* Only 2 pictures per member will be accepted.
* The picture needs to be taken by you
* No fake editing, photoshopping or captions please
* Have fun!

There will be 5 winners and each will receive a copy of our beautiful BYC 2020 Calendar!

How about a 1/2 gallon fish bowl she could barely fit in. We looked all day for her....

My hen decided to make a nest and hatch out chicks under a pallet. I put the plastic thing on top to try to keep out the rain.

ok, not a hen and not a strange place, but here is a pic of my tom turkey that went broody on me this summer. He decided to try to brood some eggs when the hens stopped.

This photo shows a turkey hen ducking her head to avoid my seeing her..
After a few weeks of setting on the eggs, she got brave enough to look over the edge of the kayak and watch us. She knew we could not get to her up there.

The next photo shows how sneaky this spot is...she is in the kayak, hanging from the rafters of my shed. The rafters are 18 ft above the floor..

I'm surprised you were able to find her!

That was her usual egg spot. One day I went to get eggs and she was broody so I let her be. She hatched out 5 chicks and is doing a pretty good job raising them.
