Official BYC Poll: Do You Clip Your Chickens' Wings?

I have never had the need to, but if I did need to I would. I free range and have a fully covered and enclosed run, so there’s been no issues with escapees.

No reason for it. Mine either free range or stay in a fully enclosed run. And I’d rather that they be able to get away from predators when free ranging.

I clip certain chickens wings. If they fly the fence 3 times, they're gettin clipped!

I don't clip the Belgian's wings because I show them

I clip my quail's wings occasionally- only if I am moving them to a new area and I want to take precautions.

I only clip my birds wings if I need to, otherwise, I do not. I’ll clip if I need them to stay in a fenced in area for a reason.

Mine are in a predator safe run and have nowhere to fly out from, so I don’t. They are too fat and lazy to fly anyway though.

I only clip if I have to, like if I have a hen that has a death wish and keeps trying to sleep in trees at night, or when I'm settling in some new birds that can fully fly, like my Aztec ducks.

I have not clipped yet but I will if needed. My flock is 5 months old. They are testing their wings lately a lot.
