Keeping chickens happy is important when raising them and is a lot like keeping ourselves happy. Things that make us happy are having fresh food and water available, being surrounded by our loved ones, having freedom, playing games and sports and of course, having a home to live in. Chickens are the same way. So, if you think that keeping chickens happy requires lots of extra effort, you’re wrong. They really only need the basics to stay happy and healthy.

So how do you keep your chickens happy? Place your vote above.

This one was hard to select just one.

I clean my coop almost daily (work schedule doesn’t allow daily) and while I clean it I have music playing that I sometimes leave going for them for a couple hours. I talk to them and cuddle them, give them special treats along with their main feed.
All this and still they freeload. Not one ‘thanks for a cushy life’ egg.
