How many of our peeps are really new to raising chickens and how many are old-timers?

In addition to answering the poll, please reply with some fun details, like:

What got you interested in raising chickens?
Did you ever "take a break" and not have chickens?
What breeds did you start with, how many, and do you have any pictures to share?
I always had chickens as a child. When my husband and I moved out to the country 5 years ago I built a coop and run. I only have 5 white leghorns but they supply plenty for my family and some for our foster dogs. They are so tame and I just love them. I always had chickens as a child. When we moved to 15 acres 5 years ago I built a coop and run. We have 5 white leghorns and the are prolific layers! They are also beloved pets. Attached is a picture of Henifer Aniston.

I had wanted chickens for a long time but couldn’t where we lived before. When we moved here I thought we couldn’t, but ironically the HOA dictator published a short “easy for us to understand” city regulations. On her sheet said chickens yes, but fell under nuisance noise regulations. We researched over the summer and got our 6 babies October 1 as day old chicks.
We got 2 Brahmas (Gracie and Frankie), 2 Favorelles (Q-Bert and Shawty) known as the twins, and 2 Silkies (Nugget and Winifred). Unfortunately we discovered having a freed backyard in town doesn’t mean no hawks and Nugget left is December 14th. We adopted/rescued Serena a 14 month old Silkie in January. So we have eggs, but not from our original babies.
