Official BYC Poll: How Many Square Feet Per Chicken?

I found that confusing, but the thread titles says it loud and clear, so I went with that.
Wondering how many did as you did?
Makes the poll kind of moot, IMO.....but I guess it's just for fun.

Why is it confusing?

The thread title asks how much space per bird.
I broke it down in my reply for coop and run.
Others also broke it down in their replies.

I thought poll vote was supposed to be coop only,
looks like thread title has changed tho or I just CRS<shrug>
Still says in first post:

1. Inside space per chicken. 6.67 sq ft per chicken
2. Run space per chicken. 16.67 sq ft per chicken (this is a low estimate. There is some area that I did not measure)
3. Free-range space per chicken. 0.05 acre per chicken (very rough estimate)

In the coop: 32 square feet for 10 girls and attached external nest boxes 5 at 1 square foot.
Coop run area: 950 sqft
"Free range" fenced run 2200 sqf

Some people may have meat birds, and in some cases people don't want their chickens to move around much so they keep weight on them? Not that I support it lol I'm just trying to think if there'd be a valid reason for it

My chickens have 2sq ft per bird in the coop, and 3sq ft per bird in the run. They have 2 acres of free range space they get every other day for a few hours. I only have 9 birds though and they're all bantams who fit in one hand fully grown, so I think this is just fine for them. They have plenty of space to stretch their wings out even in the coop. They love to fly and hop around and they have plenty of space to do so

I have a 500 square-foot chicken coop and a half acre run for 85 Birds. That's about six square foot for bird inside and a whole bunch for those outside I think about 200 square foot the same size as a parking spot
