Hannah, a Buff Orpington we have is the last of our original 4 hens. She is now 6 and still is laying eggs!

A Buff Orpington, Hannah, was our oldest chicken so far. We got our first chicks in early 2016. Hannah just passed away this past June (2023) at 7. She was the sweetest girl ever. When she got feeble several months before we 'winged it' and built her a wheelchair ourselves. She liked sitting in it on summer days watching us as we did yard projects, and watch over some new baby chicks in the yard in their bin on nice days. Hannah was the BEST

My oldest so far was Sweet Cheeks, who passed away last year at 10. She was a mixed breed; I think she may have been part silkie, though she had four toes. She had tiny feathers on her feet. She stayed spry her whole life.

My oldest living birds are Lacy, Raven, Pidge, and Vanilla, all around 7 years old.
