Official BYC Poll: The Worst Predator

For me, it’s been dogs, but that was a few years back. Since April when I started raising chickens again I lost 2 out of 30 to my cats that got out when I first brought them home.

When I first joined BYC I would have picked raccoon, opossum, but these last couple of years I gotta say the worst predator is the fox.

Raccoons were #1 for me. Now they're in a tie with hawks and dogs here.

Raccoons are the worst for me. They can rip staples out of the wood, climb, open locks, plot, they are little demon spawn!

I feel so sorry when I hear about all these predators. I live in Australia and most of the ones on the poll don’t apply to me but are obviously still very dangerous. Plus we don’t get much anyway besides a cat behind our fence that comes to eat mice. We’ve tried multiple times dealing with it but... I hope all of your chickens (+ any other birds) are all well.
