Wow, only 2.5% are interested in raising their own meat chicken. Hmmm
Interested, but I'm in the last town in my county (which has a LOT of open space in other areas) that permits chicken- keeping. If you can call it that. Half the species is eliminated, then the flock is eliminated, and 25$ per year per bird. ! No roo, only 2 hens. They allowed me 3 max because i have 2 coops.
So meat birds yes, but they have me extremely limited. We still ate one recently. She was good!

Yeah, it's tough to live in places like that. I would have to move. Thanks for the insight though.
