I have three coops that are connected by my Simple Predator Proof Poultry Run. I open the door to their run almost every day so they can free range in the chicken yard. In the winter and fall I let them out into the yard. My coops: SoftSilkie's Farmyard

My husband built a coop on a repurposed trailer we found on our property. The run is built on an unwanted frame of a green house that a neighbor inherited when they bought their house. Gotta love using "found" stuff! The chicken wire, hardware cloth, fencing, zip ties, roofing, and some of the lumber weren't free, so did cost about $300 all told.

Coop plus pen made from 100 feet of Premier 1, 48" electric netting.

The permanent facility will include an enclosed run plus an open pen made from the same netting.

I'll have to tell the chickens here and on many of the other farms about this.
It's their opinion that the healthiest place to live is in the trees.
I've had numerous discussions with them about how important coops, runs and nestboxes are and tbh they roll about laughing.
I have to force most here to use the coops at night.
