She is awesome! And her name apparently suits her well.‘Tila (short for “Attila the Hen”, because she’s crazy vicious when she chases down voles/mice and eats them) our white silkie, courtesy of Tractor Supply.
Such gorgeous babies!!!I have 2 that are all white: Frankie, my Leghorn mix and Himawari, recessive white Silkie.
Also a few mostly white Paint Silkies.
Frankie is my friendliest chicken, she seeks out attention.View attachment 3230564
Himawari absolutely loves to sunbathe, more than any of the others, it’s like she gets lost in her own world. She will find a sunny spot as soon as she is let out of the run, while the rest of the flock goes looking for bugs.

Simply gorgeous birds!I have never been much of a fan of solid white chickens, so as long as I've raised chickens, I've had very few who were really white, though several who were mostly white.
I do have a Paint Silkie with color leakage, his two offspring who are White and Paint, and his grandchildren, most of which are mostly white with some reddishness.
I also ended up with a recessive white silkied Cochin bantam who was a surprise out of hatching eggs for Blue and Black. I adore her despite her plumage, but she's a Cochin bantam, so of course she's going to be amazing.
Also, there are the Khaki Silver Duckwing Old English boys, who at a glance look white, though they faintly have a brownish tinge to them.
And I have a hatchery Easter-egger who is almost solid white, though with some faint lacing and flecks of color here and there.
In the past, I've had a few others. Another Easter-egger who was almost completely white, an Amberlink hen, a Light Brahma cockerel (though he was heavily marked in black, so not very white). I don't mind white with markings, or solid white with slate legs like with Ameraucanas, so I wouldn't rule out ever getting more white chickens, but they certainly aren't at the top of my list to get next.
Editing, pictures! I forgot the pictures! Leaving them just as attachments because there's a bunch.Reuby's my Paint Silkie (he lost his flecks some molts ago), Marka and Winter are his children, and Ganymede and Amaretto are some of his grandchildren. Louis is one of the OEGB boys. Wynne is my white Easter-egger. And Dandy Dandelion is the silkied Cochin bantam.

We just had Opal legbars hatch today! We are keeping one hen from the hatch so I can now say we have a white chicken! Or at least she will be white when she grows up!Chickens are raised for various reasons, and some people choose them based on practical reasons, while others choose them for aesthetic reasons. There are many colors to choose from, like black, blue, white, red, lavender, brown, silver, and so on. There are a variety of chicken breeds with a variety of colors, whether you raise chickens commercially, ornamentally, as livestock, or as pets.
