I use self filling automatic turkey waterers. Just attach the hose to the pressure reducer. Reducer to waterer. As they drink...the weight lessens releasing a flow of fresh cold water.

Works for summer, not in the winter, not up here

Too true.....Yankee....have to add two 3 1/2 gallons of warm water a day for every dozen birds or so....15 max

I've only been a Yankee since '79. Born and raised just south of L.A.. Didn't have chickens there, moved a soon as I graduated college. Wouldn't need to worry about winter water there.

I'm completely sold on the horizontal nipples. Have 2 - 5 gal buckets with nipples in each. 1 in the coop and 1 in the run during non-freezing weather. Just the 1 in the coop with a bucket heater during winter. Never had any freezing issues. Super easy, the birds seem to love them and the water stays clean.

Rancher kinda insinuates I do it for profit.....i give away everything I grow....birds and a three acre garden as well. Plus eggs out my wazooooooo....the local food kitchen gets the majority of their fress food stuffs from us free of charge.....cant give away enough ro eat up what we grow
