Yep if it moves they definitely eat it! Or even if it just wiggles a bit.Mine were originally pets and eggs, and still mostly are, but now they also provide great compost for the garden. and they eat the ticks

I've started planting passion flower vs milkweeds though as I don't know how well they would tolerate the toxins from Monarchs/Queens/Soldier butterfly larva. I bet we have an expert who will chime in! If not there are always tomato hornworms to be eaten here.I never even thought about that!
I don’t think we have many butterflies here but
I mostly just occasionally turn the dirt in their run over or the garden or whatever.
