Nope. I do feel better the fact i know their cared for well, but to me, mostly the fact i find it gross. the smell and looks is enough to gross me out!

Eggs do stink.

I easily get grossed out by meat, dairy, etc. And honestly its half and half for me, on one hand, i wouldnt be sad knowing i know the chickens have a good life and arent in bad environments for the eggs, but the other is just me being grossed out haha.

I know a girl who also finds eggs gross, unless used in bakery and stuff like that, because you don’t really notice the texture and taste.
So if you have chickens and don’t eat the eggs, I guess your family/neighbors must be very happy hahah!

They are my pets and we also love not having to buy eggs anymore! We actually have more than enough now and sell them too! I find whenever I need to just take a break, my chickens are always happy to hang out. They brighten my day when I see them tearing across the yard off on some chicken adventure.

Originally it was for pets which is why I started with two Silkie hens. Now I have a ton of chickens for all the reasons

They’re pets first, but eggs are a benefit from that. We kind of tend to just adopt whatever hens fall into our hands (I would love to take care of roosters, but unfortunately the noise will be too much disturbance to our neighbors who are very close to us)

I have just one rooster a blue marans I call Smudge he is almost 4. There is young cockerel Silkie .. He has a throttled choke he can do has not really learned yet.
There are two up there I hatched was sure a cockerel barred rock and White pullet with one black spot.
Almost half wondering if the barred is a pullet now ?
