Thanks for the welcome. I have been having terrible hatches lately, so I need help stopping myself from putting eggs in the bator.

I candled my MF Leghorn eggs this morning...all yolkers. DANG. I would have stopped after they hatched...truly I would have.

My name is Lori and I, too, have been called a chicken hoarder by my beloved DH.
But I tell him I keep selling them to make room for more! Honest!!


But I know I'm a hatchaholic. I'm currently doing egg math. How to fit 50+ eggs into a 36 egg incubator and under 1 broody bantam hen.
The bator is actually a Brinsea Octagon 20, but I'm putting banty eggs into it. An enabler told me I could add taller dividers and double-stack the eggs. I'm seriously considering it!!


Folks, I may need an intervention.
Or at least someone to intervene when DH sees all those egg boxes coming by PO between now & Saturday...

My name is Dee and I have a problem, too. My obsession with my eggs is interfering with my normal activities. I am secretly logging onto BYC every spare moment, often neglecting, oh, yardwork, laundry, housework (things I'd rather not be doing). I haven't told a lot of people (well, only BYC folks) and I've hidden from family and friends that I am incubating. I am forming strong friendships with the feed store people who are more than happy to take my money. I am wondering where my next egg fix will come from.

HOWEVER, I live in Las Vegas and can think of a lot more harmful vices and addictions to have....

At least this obsession keeps me from running the streets.

Do I need help? I dunno..... I'm kinda enjoying it.
