Some pictures of the babies in our grow-out pen that I took yesterday. The silkies are all ages....from 5 weeks to 4 months.

Their "daddy" is the cross-beaked blue cuckoo roo. He is so sweet to all the babies...just seems to love them as company. He lays down at night and lets all of them pile on top of him.

Enjoying this thread- here are my newest feedstore silkies- Myrtle (i hope a girl) and Staypuff- am i right on gender? Staypuff is the white one, roo?

They are 4 months old, and have trimmed them around the eyes and top- myrtle was walking around with her eyes closed most the time

I lost my baby girl a couple of days ago, my splash silkie Spruzzata (the one I dyed pink for my avatar). We still don't know what happened, she just died. Was fine when my dad went to the store, dead when he came home. Less than an hour. I was out of town. He felt horrible, like he had done something wrong. I still feel horrible. That silkie was my first chicken, my absolute favorite. Shes the whole reason I got into chickens. I miss her so much...

Oakley is growing. The used to be Luna before I got a nudge it was a rooster, still unsure of the color though.
He hatched in April and has been living with my cochin/silkie mix, mottled cochin, and cochin rosecomb mix.
