I have 6 Silkies! My oldest is Ivy, he's white, bearded, and born in February. Then there is Poppy (blue) and Rose (black); they were born in March. Luna was born in May, and I don't know if she's light blue, splash or self blue. Just yesterday I picked up my 2 buff silkies, born a few days ago. Both bearded.

The youngest three are from BYCers. Julie's Silkies is where I got Luna, only one out of 10 hatched, and Chickenzoo sent some and 2 hatched! I love silkies, they are friendly. I don't mess with my chicks much, because of all there is to do, but once they are in their seperate breeder pens, sexed and feathered, they begin freeranging a few minutes everyday and you see their true personality and they always come running for treats and they play with Willow.

Thanks Silkieluver and PolishPrincess.....I was watching the video on youtube and said "wait a minute...I'm pretty sure that's a chicken in a tree". And I was right. WOW.

I like the silkie breed because it is unique and unusual. In other words, COOL! I like their blue earlobes, blue beaks, blue skin, and they are just so cute. I'm starting out with three week old babies- fluffiness!!!
