One thing that I found interesting is that the Romans were pretty friendly about other countries' worship practices. When it came to other's faith, they were pretty tolerant. They even allowed Jewish people to not have to pray to the emperor but for him.
That is as far as I have gotten in the book, but I found that fascinating.

The Romans were a mixture of good and bad practices. I am not going to say that I either dislike or like them. The Romans could be very violent and cruel toward those who stood against them. For the most part, when it came to religion, they were willing to live and let live. Many foreign pantheons were worshiped openly in Rome by Romans. No one blinked an eye at that. They didn't proselytize and they didn't consider anyone an apostate for following a different religion.
I am not doubting that they didn't take the ritual tools of the Celts but that was probably based on political reasons more then religious ones. That doesn't make it a good action of course.
The Romans destroyed the Jewish Temple also but that occured after a Jewish revolt.
