Coopcrazy, that would have scared me also and I haven't been what you have been through. Most people-but kids especially - have a fascination with fire, so when you are calm you might want to explain again(and again and again) about the dangers of fire to them. Maybe give them something safe that they can light under your supervision like a candle.
Yes, I will send you all my positive thoughts.
Thanks Deb1 We actually had a Police Officer come over last night and scare the tar out of them .. I know some folks dont agree with that but this is the third time my son has set something on fire.. Both other times were when he was younger and living with his mother and grandmother (the same one he got the lighter from).. Plus witht hem seeing me go thru Hillary and Harrison's deaths , I was able to use them to teahc them how one lil spark can take them away from everyone...
Deb, I'm ok. Got a stinking rotten cold but at least I know it's not flu.... Baby was very active at about 3am to make up for the previous day. Obviously a nocturnal child. Suppose I should be expecting it from a baby conceived at Samhain with a daddy who's nocturnal by nature.
CoopCrazy, I'd be astounded if you didn't have a reaction to that with everything that's happened in the past. It's ok. Your kids are ok, you are ok, and it's allowed to have a complete panic about it now that you've dealt with it. Any parent would be the same, even without your history.
if they are old enough in themselves to understand, try giving them a gentle talk about how scared it made you because you love them and you don't want to have them die because they thought it would be naughty to "borrow" the lighter and then try to hide the effects of it...
but not today, give yourself at least that long to heal from the fright.

Yeah the cop came yesterday and scared the poo outta them .. I did spend quite a bit of time telling them I love them and they wasnt mad but I was very scared and dint wnt them to die..
ebwy, I wanted to let you know that I think I found the thread you were talking about, and if I am right, well I could say some opinions on that poster, but I won't cause it's a family site. Let's just say I think someone totally overreacted and it wasn't you. AND, I think they were a bit creepy talking about your baby. Just let that person's opinion slide right off cause it doesn't matter.
So everyone, what are you currently reading, religious or otherwise? I have nothing going right now.

I'm currently rereading Snow Crash, an instant classic of a Sci Fi. I highly recommend it for anyone that loves science fiction and sarcasm. It's a modern world so bizzare, you'll recognize it right away. Probably the best more likely representation of the future I've ever had the pleasure of diving into... And man is it hilarious! I can find humor in every line - but it's definitely a book for those at least, oh, 16 years and older :X Great book, though. I also read all my reptile magazines when I get bored, lol!
