Our breeder in another state is the source for the Houdans. Houdan chickens are a great breed to take up and produce another strain. I have had a few customers address me as though they wanted to produce their own strain of houdans or that they wanted to produce Houdan meat and wanted them weekly year round. Unfortunately this is one of the breeds that is no longer producing the size that it used to. Also Houdan chickens have gone by the wayside as far as genetic diversity is concerned.

Congratulations on your win! I was actually just looking at your website and got on here to look for feedback on it. I'm interested in buying some more birds in the spring, so I'm looking around at different suppliers.

A question...I want some chickens but am also interested in some gamebirds like pheasants or quail. Can those be shipped in the same box as chicks or do they have to be ordered separately? I have had trouble finding any hatchery that will allow customers to purchase less than 25 (or sometimes higher amounts) pheasants/quail; I only want a few to try them out. It appears that you allow them to be purchased in smaller amounts, right?

We do have to have 50 as a mixture of Chinese Ringnecks, Kansas Ringneck Pheasants, Manchurian Cross Ringneck Pheasants, and Melanistic Mutant Pheasant Chicks.

We can do 25 as a mixture of Colored Ringneck Pheasant chicks or Ornamental Pheasant chicks.

We cannot ship pheasants with other types of birds. they have to be ordered separately as they come from a separate breeder.

Ahh ok. I did not see a minimum order for pheasants on the website, so I assumed there was none. 25 is way too many for me, I only want about 4. I'll likely be ordering some chicks from you though!

OSUman,

Our breeders raise the exhibition birds. I am currently in college and anxiously looking forward to being able to afford a farm, but at this time Purely Poultry is a sales office for other breeders.
