Official Purely Poultry thread!!!

I have been getting a bunch of questions recently about if sold out means for 2010 already. No we are not sold out for 2010 on anything yet. We will not start taking orders until February 1.

Also the steady flow of incoming requests from abroad intrigues me. I have no intentions of Purely Poultry offering exporting with Purely Poultry. My farm might possibly do something like that some day but never Purely Poultry.

Just wanted to share:

I have yet to order my birds (hurry up Feb 1st! LOL), much less receive them... BUT:

Purely Poultry is the first hatchery I have found that will let me mix and match exactly what I want in the quantities I want! I can get LF and Bantams, 1 of one kind but 4 of another and 10 of yet another, sexed LF so no large quantities of extra roos that will just hit the pot after needing seperate lodging.

They responded unbelievably fast to my e-mail (I know chickens do not take off holidays... but responding to e-mail usually does with most businesses!).

So far... I am pretty impressed!

And the minimum of 15 is pretty reasonable when you can mix them up!

(now if only they would offer sexed Bantams... all my wishes would have been granted!)
LOL

Tyler,
I am liking your website very much. Just wanted to know how to get my hands on some BANTAM Faverolles? I click on the link in the Faverolle page and it doesn't work? I will get LF if needed, but I currently have the bantam size. Also, any chance of getting Nankins or Pyncheons in the future? Thanks!

We will not have Bantam Faverolles this year. We will have some nankins later this summer. Pyncheons we can get but the order has to be at lease 30 bantam chicks as they come from a different breeder than our primary breeder.

This is my first year, and I can't wait! I will let everyone see pictures of my babies! Already ordered!!!!!! Mine were ordered 2-17 I didn't want to wait until I couldn't get the breeds I wanted.

HI Tyler,

I live in Cross Plains, WI and like the idea of ordering from you since you are a Wisconsin business. Are most of your chicks shipped form here in Wisconsin? Also can I get chicks from you that have been vaccinated for Mereks?

Tyler,

May I ask about the Sumatras that you sell through Purely Poultry? Do the large fowl and bantam Sumatras come from the same breeder or different places? Also, when it says min:5, does that mean if I order some I have to get five? I know that sounds like an odd question, but so many people say you can order two or three, and then most of the chickens say min:5, so I was just a little confused!

I would love to have a couple pet Sumatras, I just won't be able to have a whole flock since right now I have to house them with my grandparents' flock.

Edit: Okay I'm sorry, I've been looking at a ton of hatcheries and I think I got you confused with a different hatchery! I've been going through your website and one other one constantly and I somehow combined some policies from both places. lol.

Nevermind then to the questions except for the first one: I would like to know if the large fowl and bantam fowl (Sumatras) are from different places and if that would make a difference in how I ordered.
