    i would write an article, people also do articles for their coops
    a thread will get cluttered with chit-chat about them and you will lose the pertinent information that you are trying to remember and compare

    Chick = young, baby chicken
    Pullet = immature female chicken
    Cockerel = immature male chicken
    Hen = adult female chicken
    Rooster/Cock= adult male chicken
    Capon = castrated male chicken

    Pullet = immature female chicken, generally called a pullet until they reach a year old or their first molt
    Cockerel = immature male chicken, generally called a cockerel until 1 year old or first molt

    not all birds molt in their first year

    duck - a species but also can refer to female ducks
    hen - female duck
    drake - male duck

    poult - baby turkey
    jenny - young female turkey
    jake - young male turkey
    tom or gobbler - a mature male turkey
    hen - mature female turkey

    keet - baby guinea
    adults are hens/cocks

    quails are also chicks, hens and cocks

    peachicks - baby pea fowl
    peacock - male peafowl
    peahen - female peafowl
