a thread is something that can be replied to and continually growing with multiple users posting, more like a open air conversation

an article is a write-up that one user writes, other users can comment on it but not actually post to the article

But what are the "topics" allowed for articles.
Should I start an article to keep track of the growth of my chicks?
or a thread?
There is a difference between the two, articles and threads, I'm looking for a more specific answer.
