Yes, they are Bantam Barred Plymouth Rocks and they look like pretty good quality. Wierd that someone could have show quality birds and not even know their breed.

I thought Dominique had rose combs or some other kind of comb - not single. What do you guys think?

They are barred rocks but barred rocks are called Dominique all the time unless you are at a show. The name barred rock almost never used around here.

Free to good home only - pretty and very sweet bay mare. I thought I had a forever home for her but it fell through. She is healing from a fractured ankle that was never treated, and she is slowly gaining weight. The farrier said it would heal in a year or so and she would be rideable again. I lost all the replies I got the last time I posted her - please email me if you are interested.

The poor horse. I don't see how she could ever be fit to ride.
The one in the background doesn't look too good either. They seem to have devoured everything within reach.

Rocks have a single comb, Dominiques a pea comb. Rocks are a good 2 lbs. bigger than Dominiques. There are other slight differences but Dominiques have longer tails and the color of the barring is slightly different.
Plymouth Rocks come in 7 color varieties, Dominiques are only barred.
APA standards distinguished the 2 breeds by standards in the late 1800s.
