That's a dirty game to play on someone.

I hope you flagged the cl ad so it would be deleted. That is really mean.

Yes, I flagged it and told her that I would flag it as well. She thanked me.

My side is hurting from laughing too hard.

^^ Just want to say, I've been finding that the "Hooked On Phonics" program produces more kids that are fantastic at pronounciation, but they're phonetic spellers. In our wonderfully wacky English language, this doesn't work so well. "I before E, except after C, and neighbor, and weigh, which sounds like way and whey, but isn't, oh and 'seize' and umm...never mind. Just spell it right (not write)."

I hope that this is not from someone here on BYC.

Here's an interesting horse for sale

http://flint.craigslist.org/grd/2281343421.html

We've got a lazy, fat, gelding for sale. He's sound in all respects, beautiful to look at, long blond mane & tail, and built like Schwarzenegger. The only thing that keeps him from being an excellent horse is that he's worthless. He's like that Fabio guy that they put on the cover of all those romance novels. Gorgeous...but don't count on him to bring the cows back home...he'll stop at the bar, get a buzz on, start checking out the mares and forget all about the cows.

But if there was ever a horse on planet earth that needed a JOB, it is this one. He has a great temperament - not a speck of meanness or bad temper. No buck, kick, bite, spin, etc. He does not get ridden very much anymore...so if you climb on an pressure him to do anything other than walk along he'll fuss a bit. But, frankly, he's too lazy to do anything like buck or get in a twist about it. He might whip up the energy to pick up his fat butt like two inches off the ground and attempt to convince you he doesn't want to do anything, but that's about it. Also, he's as ignorant as a post. He doesn't know how to do anything like sidepass or even neck rein. But sometimes I think he might be so smart that he acts stupid on purpose.

OK...I just got a couple emails where apparently people thing I'm being SERIOUS so this is where I have to say I'm kidding...so please don't write to me upset that I think my horse is actually "worthless". He's not completely worthless...just MOSTLY worthless. After all, look at Fabio - what the heck is HE good for? Nevemind, ladies, don't answer that.

And I better clarify something else - two people have asked me if he's "been under saddle". Of course he has - we ride him all over the place where we live. He's been up to South Branch trail riding for a week at a time - that is where the photos were taken. I'm making fun of him but he's probably got more "experience" than a lot of arena horses ever get. He is solidly "greenbroke" but not much beyond that. I taught him to cross puddles and creeks, etc., and he rarely startles unless it's something he's never seen before. I can't think of the last time he was surprised by something. I'm making fun of him because I don't want anyone to come over and look at him and then complain he can't fetch your slippers. He's greenbroke, not finished.

And of all our horses - all we've owned, actually - this one finds his way into more trouble than the rest combined. I've untangled him from fences (I mean his entire body trapped lengthwise in a fence), backed him out from between farm equipment, unhooked his halter from tree branches, and untangled his lead more than any other horse we have. If there is some kind of trouble to get into, you'll find him right in the middle of it. He is nosey - has to find out what everything is, what you're doing, whether you might possibly have something to EAT in your pocket, etc. He is smart as a whip and twice as curious - that's why he gets into mischief.

But aside from everything that is wrong with him, he's loveable and sweet and the most sociable, friendliest horse. But we have four horses and two riders (really, three horses...one is too old to ride anymore). I've kept him around thinking I might start riding him one day but realize after two years that is just not going to happen. This guy needs a friend in the worse way. He has the potential to be somebody's best friend. Write for more details and send me a phone number if you're interested and I'll call you. If he knew how to do anything useful, like barrel race or pen cows, he'd be a $2500 horse. Despite that fact, it's a tragedy to waste this guy as a pasture pet. BTW, he's double registered as a quarter horse and breeding stock paint. You won't find a more handsome animal but this is not a guy you leave in the pasture for three months and then take to a 4-H show and expect him to win in walk, trot, canter. This boy needs a rider that wants to ride regularly. He needs something to do and somebody to do it with.

One last thing - I won't sell a horse to a beginner. If you are just starting out with horses, find a professional to teach you and help you and bring that person with you when you look at this horse or any other. There is nothing wrong with this boy but you need a pro with you to size him up for your own needs. Ignore the dates on the photos - I just forgot to set the camera date.

ETA
The pictures do indeed show him up at the trail head at South Branch (I've been there many times) FYI
