Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

love it. It's right up there with chicken $60 must take all.and yet there's no descriptions of breeds, ages or quantity.
I tend to see folks trying to sell their extra roos for as much as $35 on there and a girl at work and I are both like, "Don't they know folks GIVE their unwanted roos away?" Though I didn't get my Lav. Orpington Roo for free off of C.L.

Ohhhkay then, a very small, wire-haired cane corso with an apple-shaped head...

Doesn even look like a puppy--looks like an adult dog, some terrier-Chihuahua cross...

People, please...

Here's the thing, show or breeder quality or rare breed roosters are worth money in my opinion. Some breeds go for $50+ as straight run chicks, so it makes sense the roosters would be a fair amount. But your average rooster is usually free or a small rehoming fee.

I've yet to see a true rare breed up for sale on C. L. Only the average sex link or RIR roos. Not worth what they are asking for them. I'm sure that if they had show quality birds, they'd gone to the breed specific clubs or such to rehome. Not C. L.

Most CL birds are not worth much....if they were they would sell them someplace that would bring the money they are asking.

I give away roosters that are too pretty to eat and eat the rest. It just isn't worth the hassle of dealing with CL loonie tunes for $10 bucks.

I'm with you Muggs. I like to write out what color eggs they lay, how big they get... full page ad. Maybe I should just start writting "Chickens" and nothing else.

The thing that really urks me... I put 3-5 paragraphs about the breed on there, price, my location, ect. People STILL email me saying things like "Do you have any (breed not in ad here) for sale?" Did I say I did? Pretty sure I didn't. Or the ad be for a trio and I always mention it is for THE TRIO... "not breaking them up, sold as one trio" and I get emails of people "How much for the hens. I have a rooster"

I stay polite, but on a bad day it's hard so I just ignore those... if you can't say nothing nice, don't say anything at all, right?

It's so funny because it's true. It's also sad for the same reason.
