Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

This one's current in my area if anyone's interested. Sounds too much like a Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Deliverance possibility for me to call them. http://nashville.craigslist.org/grd/4838388050.html
What? You don't like banjo music? :/ Personally, I worry when someone tells me that they refuse to be "speciest" in their eating habits, and that they don't eat animals for humanitarian reasons - that's when I start to think about the different dietary possibilities - omnivore, vegetarian humanitarian.... and suddenly remember that the chickens are overdue for their rabies shots.

Looks like somebody doesn't know how much purebred hatching eggs go for, especially quality ones. I get $6 just for a dozen of my mixed breed eggs.

The BUY in quotes had me curious, then the "pay up to $5" and I lost it, lol... like they're doing us a favor by taking those "extra" fertile eggs off our hands... :/

I was just looking at an ad a person was selling eggs $4 a dozen from a mixed flock of Buff orpingtons and RIR's and bantam egg $5 a dozen on another ad . I think he could easily find them. just depends on where you live.

He won't find purebred eggs here for that price... Minimum here is usually $1 per egg, but many are from $20 to $40 per dozen... eating eggs start at $3 as well...

I sold a lot of hatching eggs last year for $5-$8 per dozen. I called them "Rainbow" flock. They were Rhode Island Red rooster over Araucana, cream legbar and Easter egger hens. The second flock was Araucana rooster over Leghorn, Barred rocks and Easter egger hens. Guaranteed colored egg laying pullets........

around there i guess, i just found another ad for RIR eggs $4 a dozen.

i found another ad that says " buff orpington ... pure silver laced Wyandotte ... pure cinnamon queen ... pure rhode island red ... pure ameracauna ...and silkie pure bred eggs are 4.75 a dozen (silkie 6.75 dozen) or mix and match pure bred for 5.75 dozen

might not be show winners but i dont think he was looking for show winners.

I sell my eggs for $25.00 / doz plus shipping. They are from show quality birds that I have won championships with from specific lines. It doesn't matter what you pay for your eggs as long as you are happy with what you get. I have had people get eggs from me and hatch out chicks and do well at the shows. I love my birds. It is something I have worked hard at for a lot of years. I am not a spring chicken anymore. I am an old lady who enjoys her birds.

The only things I can brag about is the fact that my birds are healthy and their eggs are fertile. I would love to have show quality chickens, but do not have facilities I would like to have, and the land lord won't let me modify any more of the barn...... :(
