Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

Someone getting even with an Ex. I had a friend in college buy a Porsche 944 for ten dollars from a recently divorced lady. It was the Ex's pride and joy and she got it in the divorce. Fun times driving fast in that car....until he wrecked it. Ah....the good ole days....wouldn't even want to go that fast now.

X2! That's my thoughts exactly. Especially with that deadline. ;) Perhaps when the divorce papers are finalized?

Yeah, I texted it to my dad kind of as a joke and he called me back and he said he doesn't need a new project and it'd be a big project lol then he explained like all about it, said the $200-$400 to move it is a lie, it'd probably be more like $1000 for a boat that big, and then you'd have to buy new engines, and a bunch of other new stuff, I forgot what all he said, you'd probably put like $30,000 into it, and the guy probably just needed it gone and/or didn't pay his yard fees, etc. Which makes sense considering the date is so soon. And he said he probably is paying a lot keeping it there.

Even if you didn't put $30,000 into it (it seems like a lot to me, although for a boat that size and that old parts are probably expensive, even just the engines would be a lot), you would probably still spend at least a couple thousand so it definitely wouldn't be "free" by the time you were done with it.

I'm sure this guy knows that and doesn't want to pay for the boat anymore.

So between what you and my dad said it makes sense. Yeah, it's "free", sure. I guess free has different meanings to different people lol
Oh boy! That's kinda mean of her but also hilarious! I bet it was fun. Too bad he wrecked it lol
Wow that's awesome!

:/ Oh, talking about bait and switch.

Not really funny per se but who the heck gets rid of a giant boat and a timeshare for free!?

A 40 year old fiberglass boat with no trailer and no motors isn't worth much of anything.
If you sold your house and it had to go I can see someone giving it away rather than pay to have it hauled off yourself.
Especially if you're moving out of state and have no place to put your project boat.

Most people end up paying money to get out of their time shares.
With the annual fees etc. timeshares are a money pit that just aren't that great of a deal.
Getting out from one for free is actually a good deal for the owner.

I'm sure he's not trying to deceive people though, or I hope not. Probably just doesn't realize how much work it needs? But it's probably fairly usuable as is, that's mostly just if you wanna like fully fix it up and buy new stuff which it might not need.

That makes sense, guess I didn't really notice the year at first. Probably needs it gone fast

Ahhh, I can see why someone wouldn't want one then. Still seems kinda weird though. And i think they said there are some fees? But they're paying them, i hope they're not too much

Ha! Now I can get free trees to go with my gator...and a boat?

Seriously, I want that gator lol...I don't think there really "legal" here though....and it might eat my ducks...and chickens..

And cat.

And possibly me.

Nevermind, you can keep the gator :p
