hey I ended up with a eight week old Rottweiler puppy because a friend thought that it was a good idea to get her three month old baby a puppy. All it took was one scratch from that puppy and she was ready to take it to the pound. I took the puppy and had that dog for 10 years. I could not have asked for a better dog. I had to have her put down for failing health February 20 last year![]()
Oh I have no doubt that's exactly what they meant! Which makes it even funnier! Lol
And yeah, I heard litter boxes can be dangerous for pregnant woman but there's an easy solution for that.... HAVE SOMEONE ELSE CHANGE THE LITTER BOX! LOL
As far as I know it's some germs and dogs don't have it I think. So for dogs it's more just training them not to hurt the baby.
Although that said having a young puppy like that and a baby would be a lot of work.
And wow poor dogyour parents should take him lol
And as far as I know, there's no ban there or around here but I've never looked into it so maybe there is. I DO know though that a lot of apartments and housing complexes either do not allow pets at all, only allow cats or small dogs, or just do not allow pit bulls and other "dangerous dog breeds". Same for insurance companies. So perhaps they didnt ask their landlord?
Wow okay am I the only one that thinks they mean Zeus as in the Greek god? Lol poor puppy.
Yes it's true my friend went through that when she got pregnant the doctor asked if she lived with a cat. At the time she lived with her little sister's cat and the doctor was all against it until she said she never does the litter box. It didn't matter she moved in with her fiance anyway but it was kind of ridiculous.
Don't get me wrong I would never put a baby(when I have one) at risk but I'm also not gunna get rid of my cats and dogs that's insane!
Someone probably told her it wouldn't be safe to have a little and a baby. Poor thing. Wish he was closer I'd take him. Lol I'd catch hell for it lol but I'd still take him. Pits had the nickname nanny dogs they're naturally great with kids of raised right.
Also yeah I am totally disturbed with the pup being litter trained obviously they don't take him out enough. Does anyone know if maybe where the pup is has a pit bull ban? Maybe that's why they don't take him out
Sad but true. My dad and his wife just had a family that moved in next door with a pit mix and they never took him out before moving there. Now he's always jumping at the fence and growling. Lovely life for him, poor thing, and it's ridiculous he never stops and my Dad's wife in ignorance blames the dog not the people.
It doesn't matter what kind of dog it is if you don't train it and work with it it will be a terror.
Cats are an EXTREME NO NO if you EVER want to become pregnant. It's not that cats are jerks, which they can be lol, its because their poopoo in a nasty litter box in your house could cause a severe bacterial infection called Toxoplasmosis, which can cause death to your fetus, and possibly you.
Please do get rid of the cat box to an outside place if you do ever decide on babies
Dogs, no problem for me, except a nice big scar on my eldests' lip from a very bad choice of pulling a tail. I have one too, though lol, its a risk we take. But for the most part, I've had a great big dog that is a great babydog, and chihuahuas that are not so much, but never bit any of the babies, actually seem to like them. Depends on the dog.
I'm sorry for your loss. It can be soo tough. But I'm glad you got her and had a wonderful dog and many years with her. Thanks for saving her.
Okay so first Dad's wife isn't my family I know that sounds awful but she's his wife and thus about it. Secondly they're kinda idiots and have no business getting a dog. I know that sounds harsh but they won't even let my dog who's very well trained come over.
That being said they're fakey and have a friend with a dog that comes over and stays with them. The dog is pretty cool. He's a soft coated wheaten terrier but he's not really trained very well. That being said they also don't care for him appropriately when he's there they give him table scraps and whole plates of people food so he won't eat his dog food.
They mean well but they're clueless. Lol They also don't have time for a dog. They have tried to make friends with the neighbor's dog over the fence though but I'm not sure they should go about it that way as it just makes him more protective and he could jump the very short fence if he wanted to. Personally I think they need to speak to the owners and see about an actual meeting. Unfortunately the owners whole they care for the dog pretty much leave him outside in nice weather and he barks constantly.
Some people have no business owning a dog. It's too bad there aren't stricter laws and things to do and be checked put before getting a dog.

With respect, you can have cats while pregnant, you just can't change the litter. You can be around cats, they won't give you toxoplasmosis, you can only get it from close contact with their poop.
And it's not just cats that have it, anyway. Other animals and some birds carry it too, and you can get it from undercooked meat.
So cats are fine as long as you aren't handling their litter. You don't need to get rid of your cat or cats if you plan to have a baby, you just need someone else to handle litter duty.
