I have too many chickens so I have a FREE 12 week old Rhode Island Red pullet hen to give away to a good home. She's very beautiful. We're located in east Knox County.

Chicken Chickens Pullet Pullets Hen Hens
When I see ads like that, I like to email for a better pic. Then, if they send it, I respond back with the correct answer. But, generally since they know they will either not respond, take it down, or tell me to come and get it without sending a new pic.
I hope someone new to chickens doesn't fall for that though. Very sad that someone would do that on purpose.
However, when I was looking for a rooster, someone posted a salmon faverolles pullet. I let them know they had a pullet. I even asked for better pics - and they sent them. I told them if they were still interested in rehoming it, I would take her, but wanted to let them know. They truly didn't know and decided to keep it.

Well, I try to be nice. Some days I'm like darn I could have had a faverolles! It was just one and it would have been a bit of work with integration, but if they would have decided to rehome her, I would have figured it all out.

There are just so many people out there that don't know what they have. My guess is that this guy came with their RIR's as a packing peanut or freebie, and they can't tell the difference. :idunno

It occurs to me they may have went to a farm store or feed store and got something labeled as a RIR or WHAT THEY THOUGHT was a RIR at my local TSC they have a bin when it is chick days listed as red chickens (or somehow phrased in a similar matter) and while I know it frustraihts those who want to know the exact breed and know there are multiple red chicken breeds (a few combinations of red sex links) and other true breeds that are red feathered the people who buy them may only know of the name of one breed the RIR....

$20 chickens $30 for the rooster i have mini rooster for $20 text

Poor chickens. I hope that's not their reg enclosure.

.... and who "sells" roosters for more $ than hens?? Of course they're just called "chickens" not hens, so perhaps they're all male. The mini rooster is $10 less. Is he a lower price due to his smaller size?

I suppose there may be a few fancy breeds that are an exception, but around here people only buy female chickens. I usually just give my extra male chicks away as packing peanuts to anyone willing to take them.

I'm worried about the feed I'm seeing in that dish. Is that plain corn??

Looks like corn to me too. I'm guessing someone bought chickens recently (possibly on a whim) & is now trying to get rid of them. I think they'd look much worse if they spent their lives in those conditions.
