Ah yes! You don't have to pay taxes if you have a working livestock place..

Years ago I was working as an aid in a first grade classroom in my son's school. The teacher was teaching a phonics lesson using a phonics program that I do not care for. It has so many rules that there are never any exceptions to the rules--just more rules for the kids to memorize. It did not take into account regional differences in pronunciations. The real kicker for me was when she was teaching the differences in the words "write" and "right." That they SOUND different: the first being pronounced "wuh-rIt' " and the second not having the slight "wuh" sound at the beginning, being pronounced "rIt'." I have NEVER heard of anyone thinking that WR is pronounced differently than R!
I'm trying to contemplate how well THAT worked...I had Yankee teachers that put me in speech classes to fix me... I dont think much of people that think that way.
