6 American Buffington hens, 4 are 11 months old and 2 are about 20 months old. Extra large light brown eggs. The rooster is also 11 months old. These are free range birds and get daily egg layer crumbs. Must take all. They will go to auction on Wednesday if no one takes them. Call Tom at 717-267-7686 from 9 am to 3:30 pm.

Are these a breed I've just never heard of?

Years ago I was working as an aid in a first grade classroom in my son's school. The teacher was teaching a phonics lesson using a phonics program that I do not care for. It has so many rules that there are never any exceptions to the rules--just more rules for the kids to memorize. It did not take into account regional differences in pronunciations. The real kicker for me was when she was teaching the differences in the words "write" and "right." That they SOUND different: the first being pronounced "wuh-rIt' " and the second not having the slight "wuh" sound at the beginning, being pronounced "rIt'." I have NEVER heard of anyone thinking that WR is pronounced differently than R!

SUPER comfortable, yet hideous, chair (Marshall at Flora)

I was going to reupholster my amazingly comfortable, yet hideous, armchair but, alas, I found a replacement from high fashion home at a price that was just too cheap to make the reupholstery effort worth it. We're talking mustard-velvet, 1970s-era loveliness here. But so comfortable that members of my family have repeatedly begged me not to get rid of it. my teeny apartment only needs one squishy lounge chair though, so their loss = your gain. just come and pick it up at the corner of marshall and flora, no need to email--i'll remove the post when it's gone. (note = the color is similar to the pic, but my chair is not nearly as attractive as this one. like if this is an 8, my chair is more like a 4.)

I had Yankee teachers that put me in speech classes to fix me... I dont think much of people that think that way.
I'm trying to contemplate how well THAT worked...
um....

ok, here's all I can come up with:
