I agree that the parents need to stop the animal abuse immediately. You hear it all the time in courts how so and so abused animals as a child. Rocks first then fire crackers.... nip it in the bud.

If mom or dad will not do anything you need to stand your ground and prepare to defend your ducks, let him know you are serious. I would thump him to stop him from hurting them.

I understand the whole little brother annoying older sister thing but sheesh, a 5 year old making comments about the ducks need to die and killing them if you don't get rid of them? And throwing rocks at them? Parent's definitely need to get a handle on that one! And not sorry to say that in my house his little butt would get spanked for that. I have no tolerance for that kind of behavior and strongly believe in nipping it in the bud.

Natural consequences. Spray him with the hose. Spanking or hitting him is just teaching him that you have no self control and that hitting is okay.
