Oh Joy! It is 3 degrees at noon here.....

It's at -15 now in VT, I believe it will reach close to -30 by daybreak. I have two outside cats, they stay in my mudroom and have a kitty door to go outside. It is durn cold so I went and pulled some of those pocket heaters out of my hunting gear and stuffed their bed with them. They have the funniest looks on their faces now that they can feel the mystery heat.

Oh, and I put a red brooder bulb in the chicken tent. Half my flock stays the night roosting in there. I have three chickens in the basement. Weird hearing crowing inside the house! The big comb BG rooster is in and my two going to show tomorrow.

In a few months, we'll all be complaining about the heat

Don't know what the official temperature is here, but it was supposed to be below zero tonight. The poor dogs can't stand this extreme cold-whenever they have to go out, they limp because it's so cold.

Although, we are supposed to get above zero today for the first time in 4 days.


And Betsy - I ALWAYS complain about theat. I'll take cold and no humidity any day. Although it's tougher on the skin.

Looks like we are bottomed out at -24. I think the polar bears are gonna live.
