So what exactly caught on fire? The plastic waterers?

I always use glass mason jars and the metal bases, but I use a plastic Airline type dog crate as a brooder and many use plastic Rubbermaid totes or even cardboard boxes so there are still many dangers!!!

so sorry!! Scares me I've got 2 batches of babies with mom's I've thought about putting them together and taking the moms from them and adding a heat lamp but I keep hearing horror stories. Hollar at me when you decide to hatch again, I've got bantam and BBS standard cochins.
