great...now I know what my 14 yr old will be asking for next! oh wait will this work like for high school and college books too? like download them instaed of carrying all those books you just carry this device? How much is this thing? how much do they charge for books?

I have owned a Kindle for over a year now and absolutely LOVE it!!!!

I download audio books into it to listen to while travelling to work and back - -

I also have read many books on it and it is fantastic - I get the AP news on it daily

for a minimal monthly charge..not sure how B&N compares but Amazon offers

blogs or magazines or newspapers if you would rather....

..I love the fact it is not backlit and looks like ink on paper - - - - - - - enjoy!

They are the only way to go!

sn123, I don't think text books are available yet, but I bet they will be soon! Some books, like the classics are free and the most you pay is $10. It holds 1500 books and costs $259.

You can put pics on it and music! Pretty cool, can't wait to get it!

whoa not bad if you can buy college and high school books on there...My DD is a huge book reader! Hmmm I might just "ask" her "hey Emma, have you ever heard of this new toy thats out" and see what she says! Now mind you I dont have money to just go out and buy stuff like that if she likes it but I will buy it for "school" and stuff LOL...

The Kindle DX, I thought was made for textbooks, college and HS, I am so undecided now, theonly thing steering me towards a Nook is that the battery and emmory are removable, the Kindle, it is not

The nook works with ATT service while the Kindle is through Sprint. Sprint doesn't work around the places I visit and live......so the nook is what I ended up with and am very pleased with it.

I even cleaned the house today (Monday is usually cleaning day) so when it comes I have the day to play with it!

25 ben, it's an electronic reader. You download books to it and read it on there. Like an ipod for books. Check it out on Barnes and Noble.com!
