OH NO!! That dreaded chicken killer->Fresh Corn on the Cob.......RUN!!

Mine had chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, country gravy, bread, corn & carrots tonight for their treat. (left over from eating out yesterday afternoon). It is funny, I use to feed my little dog all the leftovers, but she passed in March. Our new dog we got in Feb, has never had scraps, straight dog food dog. So it is nice to have someone to feed all the scraps to again.

All I have to do is hang the bag of whatever I have out the sliding door and shake it, they all come running immediately.

Silly birds!
Mine love "killing" melons, corn and zucchini.
Such proud hunters they are.
I actually have a hunter in my flock. My RIR, Henny Penny, catches all the mice and beats the crap out of them before she eats them. She almost went after my dog the other day. She's a funny girl.

I like the way you worded your post. Made me

Oh the fun times we have with our birds!

Thanks Miyashi. Aren't they the best? yeah, mine love table scraps, this was the first time I gave them a cob straight from the garden, lol.

Man, my chickens aren't afraid of anything! If we have it they want it. If we hollar FOOD FOOD FOOD they come running like little feather torpedos. We can't eat outside or the girls will be jumping up stealing whatever we have. 9 of our girls chased a racoon this spring! If it might be food they are gonna eat it. I left a basket of freshly picked veggies on the four wheeler while I took the other one to the car. Came back and saw they were having salad freshly tossed. They aren't cute about it like the turkeys (they look at you and pluck as if to say "it's good mommy try some"). They even growl if you try to take it away. I think the reason the red fox never crosses the RR tracks is that they are afraid of our chickens. I see them once in a while, but never on our side. I'm afraid to trip and fall around ours too! They would peck me to the bone. Actually they kinda like me, so they will just come and cuddle, but still ya gotta worry. Funny thing is they always have food in the feeders. They just prefer to hunt for their food. And they do hunt in packs. They caught a baby gopher yesterday and I had a dickens of a time getting it away. I kept telling them no yucky, but they didn't believe me. One nice thing though we rarely see any bugs in the horse yard or on the horses. They are better than fly strips.
