MFB and Sirbird both better know better than to try sneaking turkey eggs under there...I have evil plots of my own in the works...

Oh, I do not plan on putting anything under her. She's not getting any eggs. I may grab her some chicks if I start really feeling sorry for her. Maybe put a couple of our ducklings that we have coming in...

No, no, I have REVENGE in mind for those two...hmm, speaking of plots..where ARE my minions?

So SOMEONE was going to get a piece of my mind tonight!

We had a hen sitting on a nest today, busy rolling eggs and plucking feathers..........and it looked like the ELDERLY HEN!!! I mean really!! Who does that to an elderly lady hen!

And then we noticed it was not the old hen...so life is good! But she picked out all 4 nest boxes today, so maybe she just got a whiff of that broody voodoo

I have been in contact with the elderly hen (She does not like being referred to as the 'old hen'", and she is planning on going broody within the next 11 days.

If my 3 year old brahmas suddenly decide to go broody for the first time in their lives, it will be the last y'all ever hear of sourland. I promise you!

Thank you all for the great laughs I really needed it. I am just glad I got my broody. I bought this hen last spring with another one from a farmer who had clipped their becks because he had them them jammed in a dark barn. I wish I could have taken more he got the eggs from another farmer who has all his chickens is one pen with a bunch of roosters and hens so it is surprise what you get. Both Miss prissy (from the cartoon) and splash have filled out and their becks grew back they look very healthy, I did worm them when I got them while they spent their 45 days in quarantine. So here is my broody Miss Prissy she does have feathers on her feet.

Okay Miss Prissy has 5 eggs all marked she is in her own nest box in the coop with the flock I might have to move her. But right now we are off and running.
