Oh, Willow...

parents are pushing her hard for stardom, just like her brother. I am glad that i got a ten year old that rather runs around on the playground and just wants to be a normal kid.

I always feel sorry for kids in show business. Worse yet, the little girls whose moms put them into beauty pageants.

I'm probably turning into a grumpy old lady too. I would like to keep my grandchildren (ages 5 and 6) sweet and innocent for a while.

I know. Unfortunately, it's gonna be like that forever.

I do not wanna be famous. I just want to be normal. (I'm a minor - Weird that I'm talkin' 'bout this right???

Me too. Those girls, really, do not wanna do that! Their moms make them.

my daughter did pageants from local to national level when she was 2-3 years old. She LOVED it. Other kids cried when they went on stage , she would when she had to go off. I made all her outfits myself. She did not turn into a snooty arogant fashionista. She loves sweatpants as soon as she gets home and has lots of friends. Pagents actually helped gain conficence, she has no issues going on stage or public speaking. I made her quit pageants because in th 4+ levels is too much crazy. But not all pageant moms are bad, you know, no need to feel sorry for my kids.

John Belushi had a quote "If you want to be rich and famous, try rich first." I think it's very good advice.

I actually clicked on this last night and watched it when my oldest daughter came in the office to see what I was doing and said her aunt on my x's side...who's a Wisconsin public school teacher has this song on her phone and they told her she was one year older then my daughter...to which my daughter replied, "I don't wanna be a singer." I think to her the concept of this "grown up" look and persona frightens her and she much prefers playing with her little pet shop toys and being a little girl. I reassured her she didn't have to be a singer and could do anything she sets her mind to.

For fun I picked up her cat and started whipping his tail in her face and singing, "I whip my tail back and forth...I whip my tail back and forth..."

We enjoy ticking the cats off and having them bite and scratch us...a game I started as a kid that me and my sisters affectionatley called, "A tease for a cheese."

Please forgive me if I offended you with my remark. I'm sure you are a mom who encouraged the competition without making it an obsession. Hats off to you, especially for making it a great experience for your child and for knowing when it was time to stop. Clearly, I have no need to feel sorry for yours. Thanks for sharing the other side of the discussion. But I still feel sorry for kids in show business, but I have to wonder where entertainment be without the contributions of the Little Rascals, Shirley Temple, and McCaulay Culkin?

Oh.. Ok, I won't.

On that show 'Toddlers and Tiaras', most of the girls pout. They get too spoiled, by their crazy moms. But yes, not all moms are crazy.
